Ada Comstock was a pioneer in women in Higher Education. Ada Louise Comstock was born in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1876. She gained formal education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Minneapolis, MN and later transferred to Smith College, graduating in 1897. One of her most well known positions was the first Dean of Women at the University of Minnesota and also as the first president of Radcliffe College in Massachusetts.

Ada Comstock has had multiple buildings, including residence halls, named after her on college and university campuses in the United States. At Smith College, Comstock House in the Quad is named after her. Today, her name lives on within scholarly programs, lecture series, and building naming honors.

Ada lived to 97 years old.
