The Amsterdams Historisch Museum is a museum about the history of Amsterdam. Since 1975, it is located in the old Civil Orphanage between Kalverstraat and Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal.

Collection

The museum exhibits various items related to the history of Amsterdam, from the Middle Ages to the present time. On display are paintings, models, archeological findings, photographs, but also less likely items such as a playable carillon, a "white car" (environment-friendly vehicle from the 1960's) and a real Jordaan café.
