Chirinkotan (Russian: Чиринкотан) is a small volcanic island with an area of 6 km² in the Kuril Islands group, 25km from Ekarma. It has a diameter of 3km and reaches a height of 724 metres which is marked by a caldera which is 1km in diameter. The island is steep sided. Chirinkotan is still active with latest known eruption in 1986.
Administratively this island belongs to the Sakhalin Oblast of the Russian Federation.
