Grave (196 Grave.ogg pronunciation ) is a municipality and a city in the southern Netherlands. Grave is a fortified city, in the province Brabant.

Grave received city rights in 1233.

Popular attractions

Near to Grave lies the John S. Thompson Bridge, the northern connection to Gelderland, spanning the river the Maas. The bridge was one of the key strategic points in Operation Market Garden. The Hampoort is the old entrance to the city, and its still largely intact and to be visited.
