The 5th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne.

Henry Pelham Pelham-Clinton, 5th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne1, KG, PC (22 May 181118 October 1864), styled Earl of Lincoln before 1851, was a British politician, who eventually rose to the position of Secretary of State for War and the Colonies.

He was appointed to the Privy Council of the United Kingdom in 1841, the Privy Council of Ireland in 1846, and made a Knight of the Garter in 1860.

His papers are now held at Manuscripts and Special Collections, The University of Nottingham

The Duke, at the time styled Earl of Lincoln, married Lady Susan Douglas-Hamilton (9 June 1814-28 November 1889) on 27 November 1832; they were divorced in 1850 but had five children:
