Isshii is the name of a lake monster said to be living in Kagoshima Prefecture's Lake Ikeda. The name is formed in analogy with 'Nessie' (the Loch Ness Monster). Ishii was featured on the TV news program, Sightings. During the report, it stated that Isshi's origin is found with in the latitude and longitude where Loch Ness, Lake Champlain, and Lake Okanagan, which are the homes of Nessie, Champ, and Ogopogo. Due to the sightings, Lake Ikeda has been merchandising based on the monster itself and has become somewhat of a tourist spot. It is unclear what type of animal the monster actually is supposed to be. Some assume Plesiosaur, like Champ, Nessie, and Ogopogo; while others believe it to be a giant eel.
