The Kukpuk River is a 12.5 mile long river in the Lisburne Peninsula, in Alaska's North Slope flowing into the Chukchi Sea.1
On September 6, 1826, Capt. Beechey (1831, p. 320), RN, wrote, "We noticed the water, whilst off Marryat Creek to be of very muddy colour, as if some river discharged itself there."
The Inuit name "Kukpak", meaning "big river", was published in 1890 USC&GS by as "Kookpuk."
Description: The Kukpuk River heads in DeLong Mts. at 681950N 1632450W flows SW and NW to E end of Marryat Inlet, 12 mi. NE of village of Point Hope, North Slope.
