The Life expectancy index is a statistical measure used to determine the average lifespan of the population of a certain nation or area. Life expectancy is one of the factors in measuring the Human Development Index (HDI) of each nation, along with adult literacy, education, and standard of living.1
Life expectancy is also a factor in finding the physical quality of life of an area.
