The Nelson Province was a province of New Zealand from 1853 until the abolition of provincial government in 1876.

Area
The capital of the province was Nelson. The Province itself was much larger than the present-day Nelson region, which is a unitary authority. Part of the province included the present-day West Coast region, including Greymouth. The Marlborough Province split from Nelson Province in 1859.
