The Northern Districts Knights are one of six New Zealand first class cricket teams that make up New Zealand Cricket.

It is based in the northern half of the North Island of New Zealand (excluding Auckland). It competes in the State Championship first class competition and the State Shield domestic one day competition.

Grounds

Most matches are played at Seddon Park in Hamilton but Harry Barker Reserve in Gisborne and Owen Delany Park in Taupo are also used.

Northern Districts Cricket is composed of 6 District Associations: Northland, Counties Manukau, Hamilton, Waikato Valley, Bay Of Plenty, and Poverty Bay.

Northland Clubs

Counties Manukau Clubs

The Counties-Manukau Cricket Assoication runs 6 grades of Senior cricket in the region; Premiers, Senior A, Senior B, Reserve One, Reserve Two and a Twenty/20 Grade.


In the 2008/09 season, the following clubs competed in the above grades:

Premiers - Karaka, Manukau, Papakura, Pukekohe-Metro, Waiuku and Weymouth.

Senior A - Karaka, Manukau, Mauku, Papakura, Pukekohe-Metro and United.

Senior B - Glenbrook-Maramarua, Karaka, Papakura, Pukekohe-Metro, Tuakau and Weymouth

Reserve One - Karaka, Karaka Red, Manukau, Mauku, Papakura, Pukekohe-Metro, United and Weymouth.

Reserve Two - Mauku, Pukekohe-Metro, Tuakau, United, Waiuku, Waiuku College and Weymouth.

Twenty/20 - Karaka, Manukau, Papakura, Papakura Blue, Pohutukawa Coast 1, Pohutukawa Coast 2, Pohutukawa Coast 3, Pukekohe-Metro, Pukekohe-Metro Green, Waiuku and Weymouth.


As well as the Seniors, CMCA oversees a Schools and a Juniors section which involves the above clubs and others.

Fraser Tech, Hamilton Old Boys, Melville, Star Varsity, Te Rapa, Eastern Suburbs.

Bay of Plenty Cricket clubs belong to one of four sub-associations.

Eastern Sub Association Clubs : Kawerau Cosmopolitan CC, Kawerau College, Ohope Charter CC, Opotiki CC, Trident High School, Whakatane High School, Whakatane United CC, Marist St Michaels CC, Rotorua Boys High School, Whaka CC.

Taupo Sub Association Clubs : Geothermal CC, Permaclean CC, The Shed Wanders CC, Tokelau CC, Tauhara College, Taupo Nui A Tai College, Taupo Rugby Sports, Turangi CC.

Tauranga Sub Association Clubs : Albion CC, Golden Oldies CC, Grasshoppers CC, Greerton CC, Mount Maunganui CC, Otumoetai College, IMF New Zealand Otumoetai Cadets, Pedroza Homes Papamoa CC, Tauranga Boys College.

Te Puke Sub Association Clubs : Te Puke CC.
