Oral and maxillofacial radiology is a sub-speciality of Radiology and a specialty of Dentistry; that is mainly concerned with performing ,understanding and interpretation of diagnostic imaging modalities used in dentistry and other health care professions related to facial , neck and oral structures1.

An Oral and maxillofacial radiologist is usually a qualified dentist2

Imaging techniques vary including Ultrasound scan, CT Scan , MRI , Orthopantomogram , intra-oral imaging in addition to special tests like sialograms.
