The Penny Loafers were founded in 1986 as a coeducational a cappella group from the University of Pennsylvania focusing on pop and rock music. They have performed at many events around campus, throughout the East Coast, and most recently in Beijing, China at the Greenpeace International Charity Concert.citation needed SOURCE: www.greenpeace.org/china/en/concert
In the Loafers' 20+ year existence, they have released 8 studio albums and are currently working on their 9th, been featured on a cappella compilations such as BOCA '99 and all the Voices Only 2005-2007 releases, and have appeared frequently on radio showscitation needed and podcasts from Coverville (http://coverville.com) to the Acapodcast (http://acapodcast.com) to Pandora.com.
