Thomas D'Alesandro III (b. July 24, 1929) is a former Democratic Mayor of Baltimore.
D'Alesandro is the brother of Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Patricia D'Alesandro Pelosi , and son of former Baltimore Mayor Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr.. His father was Mayor from 1947 to 1959.
In 1967, at age 38, after having served five years as President of the Baltimore City Council, D'Alesandro ran for Mayor of Baltimore and defeated Republican moderate Arthur W. Sherwood, 138,938 to 28,528. He declined to run for a second term in 1971 and moved on to the business world.
