The Tree Care Industry Association, formerly the National Arborist Association, is a 69-year-old US public and professional resource organization on trees and arboriculture.
It has more than 2,000 member companies who recognize stringent safety and performance standards and who are required to carry liability insurance. TCIA provides an Accreditation program for tree care companies that is based on: adherence to industry standards for quality and safety; maintenance of trained, professional staff; and dedication to ethics and quality in business practices. In addition, they provide safety and educational programs, guidelines for tree service operations, ANSI A300 tree pruning standards, and act as a consumer resource.
