Controversy

Recruitment practices and nepotism at the University have recently come under attack. According to the Chronicle of Higher Education 1 "six professors have been placed under house arrest pending investigations of hiring practices" and extensive nepotism and been observed in the Faculty of Economics.

The Rome newspaper Il Messaggero in a series of stories 2 published that Bari is "an encyclopedia of what can happen, should not happen, yet does happen at Italian universities."
