The Waimea Plains is the name of two areas of land at opposite ends of the South Island of New Zealand.
Waimea Plains, Tasman
The northern area with this name is a small but fertile area of low-lying land south of the city of Nelson. The temperate climate allows for the growth of crops such as hops and grapes.
Waimea Plain, Southland
The other Waimea Plains are an area of pastoral land extending from Gore toward Lumsden. They are chiefly used for sheep and deer farming, and are part of the Southland Plains.
